He did not like Spread Betting, so Lord knows why he was even at this seminar in the first place. He may have been an Angel sent from the Lord himself, as it could not have been better timing for me to get involved!
He was the type that wanted Big Bucks now, and seemed to be the type that would get offended if a certain trade he picked did not go the right way, and would take it personal. Big Bucks are great, but you have to learn first, to slowly build your pot and progressively expand your portfolio.
Eventually, the money that you have built up steadily will provide a solid base for small percentage gains, still being able to bring you great Gains!
To be perfectly honest, I think most forms, in fact nearly every form of Betting is a Mugs Game. My Background in The Financial Markets
I have been trading the worlds financial markets for the last 10 years since my dad gave me a few shares he had in a company called Video Logic. At that time I did not know much about stock or shares but to find out that they were worth about £500 was a real buzz to a young lad. It was better than Trading football Cards in the playground just as I were leaving school, let us put it like that!
I would keep checking the price of my shares and I got a real thrill every time the price went up. It was even exciting when the value went down a little because I was still 'earning' more money than if the money was in a bank and it was 10 times better than working in a warehouse.
However, nothing could prepare me for what was about to happen next.
Overnight, my shares exploded in value. They jumped from 66p to 412p a share! It was right at the height of the hi-tech boom, and just by changing their name from 'Video Logic' to 'Imagination Technology' the share price soared!
This meant I was over £12,833 richer within weeks and I had made all of that cash without lifting a finger!
From that moment on, I was addicted. I actually made more money in one day than I made in two months in my dead-end job, during this wild spell of trading! I knew the stock market was similar to the famous Las Vegas ‘Mandalay Bay’ casino, if you played it right, you could make yourself rich!
Therefore, I rode the tech boom of the late '90s when anything 'tech' was soaring in price. However, karma then caught up with me along with thousands of others. The bubble burst and I got my fingers badly burnt. So bad, they almost dropped off.
My portfolio of technology shares, which had mushroomed from £500 to £30,000, were now only worth £1,500. To say I ‘was gutted’ would be an understatement! However, it proved to me that you CAN make a lot of money from the financial markets. You just have to play them right and even after the major crash at least I had some cash left!
That is the way I Looked at it!

Over the next 2 years I set about learning everything I could to do with stocks, shares and the money markets in general ... I was a man possessed, slowly but surely unravelling the mysteries of the financial markets all in the pursuit of regular profits.
